Mobile responsive design

Accessing websites on a mobile device has exponentially increased between 27% to 35% in the last year alone (since 2013) from 14% to 22%. This just started at a mere 5% three years ago (in 2011). It has been projected to further increase to 50% to 70% in the next three years as desktop sales continue to decline and mobile devices continues to experience the most growth. Due to this boom in mobile browser usage, more and more websites need to be converted into mobile responsive design.

Responsive web design is defined as a web design approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from mobile phones to desktop computer monitors). The design also needs to be consistent amongst multiple platforms with the layout being responsive based on the medium. This ensures a better user experience as your customers view your online brand through different devices.

PHOS has gained a lot of experience on this in the last 12 months working on a couple of local companies that sell various products and services mostly through mobile mediums, thus required their existing websites to be converted to a more mobile responsive design.

Here are a few samples of our recent mobile responsive design work:

Search engine and social network analytics analysis and recommendation

Search engine optimization (commonly known as SEO) has been around for the past decade with more and more companies putting significant effort to ensure their web properties get top rankings on search engines. Unfortunately, SEO strategies have changed significantly in the last 3 to 4 years as Google (and other search engines) have radically changed their ranking policies with a myriad of computations and criteria. Many of those older strategies are now obsolete and a waste of time for companies who have websites geared for SEO.

Social networks (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.) have gained tremendous value over the last 4 to 5 years as consumers spend a total of 50% of their total time online on these websites. Some companies even leave out creating a separate website altogether and just focus on their social media presence. However, companies that still maintain both social network accounts and a separate corporate or brand website enjoy the benefits of generating user traffic from both social networks and search engines to their main website where actual sales or other goal conversions take place.

Both search engines and social networks generate a wealth of analytics data which help companies understand the behavior and interests of their customers. These analytics help companies create better targeted SEO strategies and social network campaigns. Therefore, less effort is needed to improve search engine rankings and social media engagement which is better ROI for any company.

PHOS has gained a lot of experience on this over the last two years working with a number of local companies who have been operating online for a number of years yet did not utilize the benefits of search engine optimization and social media networks.

Here is the latest client we worked with and a sample of the analytics analysis and recommendation we did:
